"Discord the Mononoke" belongs to my story, "White Crow". Please do not use without my permission!
Another sketch/painting I did with Corel Painter Essentials 4. I am so loving the smearing paintbrush.
This is Discord the Mononoke in its final form, the Orchestra form. It has 3 forms: Bass, Treble, and Orchestra. In Bass form, it has long tentacle-like projections from it's body that burrow underground and create massive earthquakes by producing many low-wave frequencies and vibrations that resemble the sound of bass.
In Treble form [link]
, the tentacles become thick spines that are hollow inside. These spines take in large quantities of air that fill the air sacs within the monster's body. The "music staff" on Treble Form's neck flashes, and what seems to be notes begin to form on each staff line. They rapidly travel along the lines and jump from line to line in the order the monster wants them to go. When Treble Form finally forces the trapped air through its throat, the sounds that come from it depend on the order the monster put the notes in. And they're not pretty sounds...XDXDXD In fact, the monster uses the sounds of discord to deafen its victims and throw them off their balance. This renders them powerless to the monster for at least 2 minutes, and that's enough time for it to defeat you.
Finally, in Orchestra Form (seen here), both of these tactics are combined, only with a twist. The "wings" you see on this form are actually sound patterns (hint: you see these on sound equalizers...) that undulate, drop, and rise hundreds of times per second. The ball on its tail, finally out of the vestigial state (it could not use it in the other forms), creates a bell sound that Discord can manipulate even while the bell's sound vibrations are still spreading through the air. When the monster screeches after the bell sounds, whatever order the monster put the notes in on its neck's "staff" will determine how high or low-pitched the sound will be. It can easily deafen you and shake the earth at the same time, thus extending the period of time it takes for you to recover.
When it flies with these "wings", it must move them at extremely high speeds because it would be impossible to fly if this was not done, due to the monster's weight. While flying, the wings seem to be invisible. The high speeds create smaller sound vibrations that the monster can manipulate, as well as the bell sound it generates from the tail.
Now about Discord's history.........it was actually Jigoku's true form after Reishi purged him from his soul. In Reishi's dying breaths, he released two forms of darkness before leaving the Earth as a spirit. The two forms happen to be Ramia and Discord. Discord was once almost destroyed by the Koudo, Enkai, Hitori, and Obake people because of its violence, and the possibility that Ramia would be able to seize it and use it for his own designs. Weakened and slightly purified by the leaders, the monster took on a human shape and continued the battle. Because Discord would not die, the leaders of each group of people decided to compress Discord's power instead of trying to eliminate it. This turned Discord into Jigoku, and the technique locked away 70% of his true powers deep inside him. Although still powerful, Jigoku would not stand a chance against all the leaders.
Discord was renewed a second time in the future parts of my story. Near the end of the first part of "White Crow", Sly, dedicated to serving Ramia, sacrificed his true body to become a new body for Discord. After swallowing Jigoku up, he forcefully extracts Discord's powers from deep within him, and with Sly as the medium for Discord, the monster is once again a threat to everyone.
This Discord you see here in the picture is the revived Discord. As you can see, Sly's scars riddle its body.
Poor Sly....he's like my favorite OC and I'm always torturing him...BUT I SHOULDN'T WORRY SINCE EVEN THOUGH HE DIES I'M BRINGING HIM BACK....8D
